First...Melisa is awake and alert although still on the vent...we almost lost her last week but she might have turned a corner. She is still in danger but beginning to make improvements.

Second...I have bronchitis...crap! Anyway, I went to the clinic yesterday afternoon and got a Z-pack and began taking it immediately. Having a rough day today and probably won't stay at work all day but am going to try to stay until at least 2-2:30. I hate bronchitis...and I get it at least once, if not twice, a year...yuck! I've got too much to do...going to Nashville on Friday and to Birmingham on Sunday...come on drugs, do yur thang!

Third...I've started making plans for my Thanksgiving meal...lnalvgd always goes to her dad's house for the noonish meal and we have the late meal at home...so, I'll be working on that one while she is gone. She has turkey there so I have ham to make it different...and work on different side dishes as well. I fixed a butternut squash risotto a couple of weeks ago that was fabulous...will be adding that to the menu for next Thursday.

We also put up our Christmas trees on Wednesday night and when she and MP get back from her dad's, we decorate...so, she is going to work on rearranging furiture this weekend in anticipation of the coming festivities.

So..you see...I don't have time to have bronchitis...go away, please!

I heard from Marvin a bit ago...Melisa took a turn for the worse last night and it just doesn't look good right now.

I'm just stunned...this stuff can just attach so furiously when your immune system is compromised (she had pneumonia)...the drugs did not make any impact as she was too far gone before they started...

*cries*

For those that are watching...lnalvgd made the early flight (made me get up and take her to the airport at 5:40 am...good thing I love her so much!) and will be with Chris very soon.

What is it about YA books that draws this grandmother in? Yes, I've found another series of YA books that I've fallen for...Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments Series. No, it is a different Cassandra Clare if anyone is questioning my sanity.

I just finished reading City of Bones, the first of the trilogy, and can't wait to get my hands on book 2, City of Ashes.

Just talked with Melisa's best friend...she is worse. They have paralized her so that she will not try to breathe on her own and will let the machines breathe for her. This is very scary.

I appreciate everyone who responded to my post last evening...I haven't had an opportunity to respond to everyone individually and may not get to it...however, I do want to update.

Melisa is still in ICU...still on a ventilator...stable...it is going to be a long haul for this lady. Continue to send good thoughts...

So...I came home today and saw a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the table. My initial reaction...ahhh...Chris sent lnalvgd flowers again...then, I see the card...they were for me! And...they were sent to me by Chris! He is definitely a keeper!

So sweet...I'm just sayin'.

...I realize that for the past few years, the South has been in a drought situation and that we have really needed rain to help fill the lakes and rivers that were running so low.

However, I believe it is time to turn off the faucet. We are now 10" above normal in precipitation for the year and need some sunny days to turn the leaves to the gorgeous colors that are the mark of our lovely mountains and valleys at this time of the year.

So, let's start turning that faucet now, please...thank you very much.

OMG...I can't believe this game!

So...

*I spent 1 1/2 hrs on the phone with Dell on Friday afternoon.
*I didn't turn on my computer until late Friday night and played a bit...wasn't on more than an hour.
*I turned it on again on Sunday...again, maybe for about an hour.
*I turned it on last night to upload my files that I had burned to a DVD before the crash.
*Dead again.
*Did the diagnostics and stuff as I had done on Friday...no response.
*Called Dell again just a bit ago.
*I will be getting a new hard-drive!

So, now I just have to wait until it is shipped and for the technician to call me to set up a time to install. I hope to be up and running again before the weekend...if not, I'm going to be exceedingly grumpy...

I didn't respond to anyone about my post yesterday...I am up and running again!

I spent 1 1/2 hrs on the phone with Dell...and finally ended up having to do a factory restore...thus, everything I had on my computer is gone. Fortunately, I had downloaded all of my data files and pictures to a DVD before I started trying to do a repair myself last night. Unfortunately, I did not download my iTunes/music files...:O...I believe I have everything on either my iPod or my iPhone so I'm probably okay...but, that is just stupid.

Anyway, I'll be spending the weekend reloading software, links, files, etc...but, at least I'll be able to use my computer again!

I'm so tired of rain...I know that we need it but, really, this is getting ridiculous. I need some sun, please.

I came home last night from my IAAP meeting, made myself a bowl of popcorn, grabbed my dog, and went to bed...it was 8:10. I didn't say "I'm home" to anyone, I just didn't even want to talk to anyone. lnalvgd called me about 9:30ish asking me where I was...I said in my room...oh...yeah...okay. I didn't watch House or Heroes (fortunately, I now have a DVR and have recorded them!...I'll watch sometime before next Monday).

I woke up this morning feel down and depressed...sun, please...I need you! And, Fall, please, get here soon! The humidity and mugginess is killing me!

Okay...yeah, go ahead...give me some cheese to go with all this whine...

I'm done.

Yes, I am...they played a great game against the #1 team in the country and Florida didn't cover the 30 point spread...nope, not at all! Losing by 10 points in the Swamp should be considered a moral victory...and it was, at least for me.

Next week...another lower division team and then back into the teeth of the SEC.
